What's great

Slate finally gives Laravel Blade the same “copy, compose, own” workflow people get from modern React kits — without leaving Blade or Livewire. The components feel intentional (forms, overlays, layout), theming is token-based, and the docs site (blocks, examples, themes, AI/MCP) makes it usable on day one instead of a dump of partials.

What needs improvement

Stable 3.0 is out — still expanding experimental surfaces (calendar/combobox depth, more blocks) and Livewire recipes. Would love settings/billing empty states and more production smoke apps.

vs Alternatives

Tailwind UI / custom Blade, Flux, Livewire Volt scaffolding, and shadcn-style React kits. Chose Slate because we want shadcn-inspired composition in Blade/Livewire without rewriting the app in React.
